Carmen - Cool Annoyers Remove Mail EnhaNcer

Carmen is an antispam tool that hangs itself between email program and POP3-Server (like a proxy server) and runs completely in the background. It filters the spam mails from your pop3 account. The spam mail is deleted directly on the POP3-Server, if detects one ! Thus it does not transmit to your email application ! Carmen works with all possible email applications and POP3 servers, no certain software is necessary, the email application and the POP3 server must support appropriate standard protocols only !

Following features are implemented:

- Support of regular expressions, this may be the filter very powerful !
- Administration of the filter entries in a database
- Fast and flexible access on the database through dbExpress
- Import of other Carmen databases
- Update of the Carmen DB through a central MySQL database server
- The database and the configuration are stored in XML files !
- Support from up to 5 pop3 servers
- Logging function
- Different modes for detected spam mails: Testmode, delete, forward, save in local xml file.
- No certain clients and servers necessary !
- Support of the operating systems Windows and Linux !

Start of the beta test phase: June 1, 2003 !
